Ca. agent) Sue Young, owner of The
Tasting Spoon - Teaches cooking classes and conducts culinary tours.
Her twenty-six years of experience in the food profession extends from
recipe development, food styling and teaching. She provides a workable
recipe, and how to creatively garnish and presentation are stressed; she
helps you skillfully solves the problems before they happen. Sue is quick
to adapt recipes even the most novice cooks can handle and gladly addresses
recipe requests. She contributed much to her students through culinary tours. During this time she has conducted over 32 international tours to such countries as France, England, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and Italy, to say nothing of the extensive trips to China, Hong Kong, and Japan. Three years ago, it was a riverboat trip in France. Tours to Santa Fe and Boston tours proved to be so popular they have been repeated three times. In Fall 2000, a popular trip to Paris & German Christmas Markets was conducted, and in May 2001, Jazz Fest in New Orleans (4th time). Sue and Gretchen lead a sell-out culinary and shopping trip to New York City for Fall 2002 including seeing The Producers! A trip to Santa Fe for Fall 2003. In 2006, we visited Quebec and Montreal. 2007 a sellout trip to the south of France. For 2008 we have planned a trip to Portugal; Lisban and Douro River Valley. Schools who specialize in teaching food preparation, such as Bristol Farms, Lawry's, Home Economics, A Store For Cooks, Cuisine Sur La Mer, Jacaranda, and Golden West College, are but a few of the educational establishments that provide a location for learning how much fun cooking really is from Sue. To compliment her professional ability, she was asked to teach at the well-known Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite for their Chef's Holiday Program. In 1996, Sue was a winner in Paul Newman Recipe Cooking Contest - $5,000 donation to charity. Sue has also contributed articles to Teen Magazine, The Orange County Magazine, Orange County Register and South Bay/Santa Monica Outlook. Topics covering party planning, gift giving, food styling and an easy approach to learning to cook are just a few of the subjects covered. Contributed two chapters (Ethnic LA & Herb Tours) to Food Lovers Guide to Los Angeles. Sue is married to George Young
and has three grown children - who have all multiplied! |
